S2S Environmental Inc. (S2S) has an immediate opening for an Environmental Site Assessor in the Environmental Due Diligence at our Pickering, Ontario location. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplined team of environmental professionals.
As an Environmental Site Assessor with our Environmental Due Diligence Group, you would experience a blend of field and research-based work to support the completion of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Baseline Property Condition Assessments (BPCAs), Tenant Audits and other environmental investigations. The duties of an Environmental Site Assessor would include the following activities:

Research various historical and regulatory documents, in order to develop a full history of each property being assessed;

Completion of physical site visits to various residential, commercial and industrial facilities;

Preparation of technical reports, outlining potential sources of environmental contamination and recommendations for the replacement and maintenance of various building systems;

Participating in discussions, meetings and presentations with clients, contractors, tenants and fellow environmental professionals; and
-
Providing support to further environmental investigations, including Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, Indoor Air Quality Assessments and Hazardous Building Materials Assessments.
The Environmental Site Assessor will work as part of a dynamic team of young professionals, who develop innovative solutions and ideas to identify and address challenging problems for clients across the real estate industry, from residential dwellings to shopping complexes to factories and beyond.

As a successful candidate in this role, you will possess strong interpersonal skills, work well in team settings, and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Minimum qualifications for this position include:

Appropriate University Degree or College Diploma (Engineering, Environmental or Sciences preferred);
-
Entry Level to two years of applicable field/consulting experience;
-
Knowledge of environmental regulations and guidelines;
-
Experience with reading and interpreting architectural drawings;
-
Experience with AutoCAD and GIS is considered an asset;
-
Ability to perform field work and willingness to travel, generally within the province with occasional out-of-province travel;

Highly effective oral communicaition;
-
Ability to deliver high quality reports, have strong technical writing skills and can present information concisely and clearly;

Proficient with Microsoft Office software;
-
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
-
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment; and
-
Commitment to professional excellence.
Other Requirements:

Must possess a valid driver's license, have a vehicle and a satisfactory driving record;

Able to work in extreme conditions, (i.e. hot, cold, and at heights); and

Willingness to obtain security clearances as required by our Clients.
