S2S Environmental Inc. (S2S) has an immediate opening for an Environmental Site Assessor in the Health, Safety and Compliance group. The successful candidates will work as part of a multi-disciplined team of environmental professionals and hazardous materials specialists.

We are looking for individuals who have solid interpersonal and technical skills, as well as basic knowledge of Building Science, Hazardous Materials, Occupational Hygiene, and applicable Environmental Regulations, Standards and Guidelines. The successful candidate will work on projects involving the management of hazardous materials including but not limited to asbestos, lead, silica and mould and Industrial Hygiene including Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) assessments, drinking water, noise and worker exposure assessments and other compliance-related tasks which encompass a broad range of duties including:

Completing site assessments and inspections;

Interacting with clients and on-site representatives regarding building history and evaluating building systems;

Identifying and collecting samples of suspect asbestos, lead, PCB-containing materials, and drinking water and submitting for laboratory analysis;
-
Obtaining data using direct reading instruments and interpreting against standards and guidelines;
-
Preparing technical reports, drawings and documenting findings and providing recommendations;
-
Inspecting abatement and restoration contractors undertaking remediation work;
-
Contributing to the team and maintaining quality control; and
-
Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective clients.

As a successful candidate in this role, you will possess strong interpersonal skills, work well in team settings, and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Minimum qualifications for this position include:

Appropriate University Degree or College Diploma (Environmental or Sciences preferred);
-
Entry Level to two years of applicable field/consulting experience;
-
Knowledge of environmental and health and safety regulations and guidelines;
-
Experience reading and interpreting architectural drawings;
-
Experience with AutoCAD and GIS are considered an asset;
-
Ability to perform field work and willingness to travel, generally within the province of residence;
-
Highly effective oral communication and report writing skills;
-
Proficient with Microsoft Office software;
-
Strong organization skills and attention to detail; and
-
Commitment to professional excellence.

Able to work in extreme conditions, (i.e. hot, cold, and at heights); and
