S2S Environmental Inc. (S2S) has an immediate opening for a Project Manager in the environment Assessment & Remediation group at our Pickering office.  The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplined team of environmental professionals.

 

This individual should have solid interpersonal, technical and fieldwork skills, as well as basic knowledge of the Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) process, including Phase I ESAs, Phase II ESAs and Phase III ESAs/Remediation, along with applicable Ontario environmental regulations, Standards and guidelines

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for a broad range of duties including:

 

  • Initiating and managing projects from the proposal stage to completion;

  • Developing scopes of work, schedules and budgets;

  • Coordinating and assigning staff resources to projects including tracking time and expenses;

  • Providing supervision and direction to staff on project execution;

  • Completing site assessments and inspections;

  • Attending client meetings and identifying and rectifying site issues and project concerns;

  • Interacting with clients, on-site representatives and third party contractors on a broad range of technical issues;

  • Preparing technical reports, drawings, borehole logs and documenting findings and providing recommendations based on applicable federal, provincial and municipal regulations;

  • Contributing to the development and execution of internal protocols and procedures including aiding in the development and mentoring of staff;

  • Conducting training programs; and

  • Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and perspective clients.

As a successful candidate in this role, you will possess strong interpersonal skills, work well in team settings, and possess strong oral and written communication skills.  Minimum qualifications for this position include:

 

  • Appropriate University Degree or College Diploma (Environmental or Sciences preferred);

  • Minimum three to five years in a Project Manager position for Phase II/III ESA projects (experience with Phase I ESA projects is an asset);

  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geologist (P.Geo.) designation or the ability to register for such would be desirable but is not mandatory;

  • Experience with proposal and report writing;

  • Experience with developing and administering project budgets and invoicing;

  • Ability to perform field work and willingness to travel, generally within the province;

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and have the ability to communicate with clients and contractors in an effective manner;

  • Ability to deliver high quality reports, have strong technical writing skills and can present information concisely and clearly;

  • Strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail;

  • Ability to manage the demands of multiple concurrent projects and challenging deadlines;

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment; and

  • Commitment to professional excellence.

 

Other Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver’s license, have a reliable vehicle and a satisfactory driving record
• Able to work in extreme conditions (i.e. hot, cold, and at heights)
